Lead Manager - US GAAP/SEC Reporting - Controllership - CA - Shift 3 PM-11 PM / 2PM- 10PM

CA with 8 Yrs+ Experience with Excellent English communication & Presentation skills

Core Purpose of the Role:

- To lead and manage a skilled, professional team to deliver all US GAAP reporting and financial accounting information for the Finance Center of Excellence

Reporting Lines:

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for delivery of all US GAAP reporting outlined by NY to ensure compliance with SEC and US Federal reporting. This will include responsibility for the end to end system close process from FE to GL final close

- Develop a highly effective team that will work to understand the business issues, anticipate the results and provide both pre-submission and post submission review and support

- Ensure regular engagement with Statutory & Regulatory Reporting team to ensure they are appropriately briefed on all issues, business results etc. to enable them to effectively deliver the local GAAP and regulatory reporting

- Ongoing identification and implementation of process improvements to, accelerate the close, embed monthly close in line with SEC requirements with a focus on reduction in manual processes

- Work closely with regional technical accounting teams on the accounting for unusual and complex transactions

- Conduct planning and implementation of FCoE US GAAP reporting schedules for monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting. Ensuring alignment with NY and regional deadlines

- Maintenance and implementation of efficient internal controls by identifying & analyzing control weaknesses and requirements across the US GAAP team

- Support and assist with internal and external audits

- Lead, motivate and develop the team to ensure an effective working environment. Foster a climate of staff performance, development and succession planning

Key Capabilities:

- Requires a demonstrated understanding of accounting, under U.S. GAAP aas well as SEC reporting and other requirements of a public company such as SOX.

- Strong control environment background and expertise with a focus on right first time, on time

- Proven staff management skills

- Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues

- Significant and complex financial analysis of activities, projects and plans

- Good time management skills - ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines

- Innovative and always looking for continuous improvement in order to develop succession plan for staff

- Analytical and detail focus

- In depth understanding of the financial services industry including current issues, trends and developments

- Good understanding of the key financial drivers for the industry

- In depth understanding of the regulatory environment in the insurance sector

- Ability to work in dynamic environment driving for improvements and change

Key Experience:

- Qualified chartered accountant with 10+ years post qualified experience

- Business / Finance graduate

- Experience working in a financial services firm, preferably insurance

- Fluent English and other language preferred but not required

- Experience of delivering diverse financial information requirements in a complex organisation

- Operational experience with U.S. GAAP, and IFRS

- Prior work experience in a multinational organisation and matrix reporting structure
