Primary Responsibility:

The Manager, Enterprise Application Integration manages the resources and projects of the Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) team. This role will assess projects and assign tasks to direct reports, manage workloads, determine timelines, and serve as an escalation point. This position also serves as a technical lead and works alongside the rest of the EAI team to accomplish tasks and project work when needed.

Responsible for department project resource management, The duties include but not limit to attend project meetings, assess integration requirements, determine tasks and scope, coordinate with PMO, and assign project work to the team members. Issues escalation and resolutions for on-call support. Manages the EAI on-call support calendar and ensures adequate coverage. Serves as an escalation point for issues that need guidance or decision making from EAI team members to ensure the team achieves SLA's related to support tickets. Maintains the enterprise integration environment. The duties include but not limit to cover all aspects of ensuring a health integration engine including remediation of errors, enforce and maturing best practices, establish policies and procedures for the team, and make design decisions in alignment with the department director's strategic vision. Serves a member of the leadership team. The duties include but not limit to communicate integration strategy to other teams and departments, assess current state and determine suggested approaches to best implement/migrate/design solutions for projects and initiatives. Responsible for administrative duties such as work schedules, timesheets, paid leave requests, and project coverage. Serves as a member of IT Change Management. The duties include but not limit to approving team member changes, ensure compliance with change management policy, and provide EAI validation and approval for IT changes submitted by other teams. Responsive to emails and calls/texts within a reasonable amount of time. Is attentive to ongoing issues or questions and replies back consistently. Ensures team members are replying and following up on correspondence. Takes initiative to intervene in issues that may arise. Works proactively to ensure department best practices are followed. Intervenes when observing improper procedure or practices. Develops interfaces, designs and develops solutions, provides back up technical support to the EAI team, and works support issues as needed. Role models behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs other related duties as assigned.

Secondary Responsibility:

This Enterprise Application Integration Manager is responsible for overseeing the enterprise integration engine and a team of developers. This team coordinates with business stakeholders and other IT teams to implement interfaces between clinical and financial applications. This position is a technical leader that should be well versed with integration design best practices, protocols, and interface engines. This role will oversee a wide variety of integration projects that involve custom development and advanced automation techniques.

- Leadership experience with a technical team. Can speak and think as a developer to determine appropriate design choices. Experience with leading technical projects, collaborating with internal and external organizations, and providing guidance. Good at problem solving, taking technical and workflow design aspects into consideration.

- Experienced with a variety of interface types such as HL7, TCP/IP, web services, API's, FHIR, SFTP and file based transmissions. Experience with code review processes, reusable code design, and data structures.

- Experience with project resource management. This includes attending project meetings, assessing integration requirements, determining tasks and scope, coordinating with PMO, and assigning project tasks.

- Experienced with issue escalation and resolution. This role serves as an escalation point for issues that need guidance or decision making from Enterprise Application Integration team members. This includes ensuring the team achieves SLA's related to support tickets.

- Maintaining the enterprise integration environment. This responsibility covers all aspects of ensuring a healthy integration engine including remediation of errors, adopting and maturing best practices, establishing policies and procedures for the team, and making design decisions in alignment with the strategic vision.

- This role will communicate integration strategy to other leaders, teams, and departments. This role will assess current state and determine suggested approaches to best implement/migrate/ design solutions for projects and initiatives.

- Experienced with IT Change Management processes. These duties include approving team member changes, ensuring compliance with change management policy, and providing Enterprise Application Integration validation and approval for IT changes submitted by other teams.

- Experienced with interface development. Maintains technical skills for developing interfaces and business process solutions. Provides back up technical support to the team to provide guidance.

- Highly communicative and responsive. Able to present and drive meetings. Comfortable with speaking to technical and non-technical groups to ensure communication is understood and effective.

- Familiarity with InterSystems technology highly desirable.

- Analyse integration requirements between source and target systems in terms of field mapping, data volume, data flow, frequency and integration method i.e. API, file (SFTP)

- Use industry leading Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) tools to implement integration architecture that is scalable, reuse common business objects where possible.

- Provide integration architecture guidance to application teams.

- Implement the technical design, develop application programs and test the functional requirements and develop integration to other systems.

- Develop SOP to maintain and support integrations over the system life cycle.

- Support testing during systems upgrades to ensure integrations are stable.

- Maintain system procedure and documentation according to established standards.

- Deliver the required systems integration solutions for a new business solution replacement and platform change, ensuring continuity and security of the systems, data, and business services during the conversion.

- Help define the integration and dataflow architecture and evaluate vendor web services and API capabilities. Identify gaps in available integration services and work on remediation strategies to ensure stability as the underlying platform technologies continue to evolve.

- Help assess future API management tools, vetting capabilities against requirements and performing validation activities as required.

- Contribute to development and management external-facing API layer for business partner integration; e.g. mobile apps, third-party applications and services.

- Collaborate with support teams to resolve production incidents and proactively seek opportunities to develop preventative measures to avoid recurrence.

- Foster strong team skills and culture for improving application integration techniques.
