Lead Data Analyst
Profile Summary:
As a Data Analyst, you will be accountable for querying, data wrangling, metadata preparation, and data cleansing tasks. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of our data, which will contribute to informed decision-making and efficient business processes.
Responsibilities:
- Querying: Utilize SQL or other query languages to retrieve data from various databases, data warehouses, and data sources. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into effective queries.
- Data Wrangling: Clean, transform, and organize raw data from multiple sources into structured formats for analysis. Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, missing values, and anomalies. Apply data manipulation techniques to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Metadata Preparation: Develop and maintain metadata documentation, including data dictionaries, data lineage, and data models. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of metadata to facilitate data discovery and understanding.
- Data Cleansing: Identify and address data quality issues by implementing data cleansing techniques. Validate data integrity and accuracy through data profiling and analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data quality standards and processes.
- Reporting and Visualization: Utilize reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, and executive reporting suites to create visually appealing and insightful reports, dashboards, and executive summaries. Design and implement interactive visualizations to present data-driven insights to senior stakeholders.
- Analysis and Insights: Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations. Generate actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, and business users to understand data requirements, validate analysis results, and ensure data accuracy. Document data analysis methodologies, assumptions, and findings to maintain an auditable trail of analysis activities.
Required Skills:
- 1-4 years of work experience in data analysis or a related field.
- Proficient in querying languages such as SQL, with experience in retrieving and manipulating data from relational databases.
- Strong data wrangling skills, including data cleaning, transformation, and integration.
- Familiarity with metadata management and preparation, ensuring data documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Experience with data cleansing techniques and tools to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Proficiency in reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, and executive reporting suites, with the ability to create impactful visualizations and reports for senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex data sets.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and reliability.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
