Tax Lead - Associate

Your key deliverable will be to own Direct & Indirect Tax both at operational and strategic levels and will report to CFO

Responsibilities :

- Responsible to manage with outsourced consultant, various operations/activities related to the Taxation function for the company including: Monthly calculation of GST, its payment in due time & filing of monthly GST returns Monthly reconciliation of Input Tax Credit, GST Audit, GST Annual Return compliance Monthly TDS calculation, preparation of details for TDS deductees & quarterly filing of TDS return Preparation & filing of Form 61B (FATCA & CRS) Filing of Equalisation Levy Return

- Preparing and electronically uploading income tax return;

- Filing of quarterly e-TDS returns, generating Form 16A and removing TDS defaults of returns filed;

- Calculation of dividend distribution tax

- Reviewing and online submissions to be filed before the Assessing Officer and attending hearings for assessment proceedings, stay of demand, penalty proceedings, rectification

- Reviewing Grounds of Appeal and Statement of Facts in relation to appeal to be filed before the Commissioner of Income-tax (Appeals) / Income-tax Appellate Tribunal and attending the hearings with consultants

- Reviewing working for GST returns prepared by external consultants - Comparing ITC taken with GSTR 2A and calculating deficit or excess ITC take

Essential Qualifications :

- Chartered Accountant with 4-6 years of experience in both Direct and Indirect Taxes

- Candidate with experience of working in Consulting firms or Startups will be preferred

- Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members

- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
