Lead Analyst - Analytics - Captive

Position Summary

This position is for a consultant with responsibility for a team of 5-8 analysts who build/program computer models for structured finance deals. The incumbent will be required to lead and support the team throughout the life cycle of the deal-modeling project and should have a good understanding of deal related legal documentation and deal modeling using SQL, VB & VBA and Access.

This person would also be required to model deals him/her self to support overall business objectives. A strong emphasis is on risk control and staying current with market trends. This person will do performance reviews for their direct reports and spend time developing their staff through goal setting and mentoring. The individual will have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the team and allocation of workloads and will be required to liaise frequently with the onshore team and onshore business managers. Able to both motivate and work as part of the team, this person should be able to demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to delivery projects to tight deadlines.

- Previous experience in Financial Services preferred.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Access SQL,VB & VBA Skills, or similar database and query writing experience is required

- An understanding of the CDO's (or any other structured product). Good knowledge of financial instruments (Bonds, Loans, Swaps, etc) is preferred.

- Exceptional oral & written communication skills and clarity of thought process. Ability to enhance the product knowledge of the team and gaining subject matter expertise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Analyze and understand complicated finance product structures and legal documentation.

2. Develop and implement deal models using proprietary systems using SQL, VB & VBA skills

3. Liaise with the onshore team to resolve documentation and modeling issues.

4. Manage workflow, ensure that deliverables are met on deal models and other allocated projects.

6. People Management, performance appraisals and conflict resolution.

7. Assist with the development and implementation of process, risk management and audit controls.

Preferred Language Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel, SQL,VB & VBA Skills, or similar database and query writing experience is required
