Primary Roles And Responsibilities

We are looking for a lawyer to join our entrepreneurial team to assist on a range of legal matters including:

- Working alongside the investment and asset management team with respect to investment/ disinvestment related activities including structuring of investments and exits from a legal and tax perspective, devising and implementing dispute resolution strategies vis a vis joint venture partners and investee companies, attending to any disputes relating to the investments made by the portfolio of assets being managed including litigation, arbitrations.

- Being a close partner to the business, the successful candidate will be assisting in a broad spectrum of legal matters including (i) drafting and negotiating commercial/transactions documents for potential investment opportunities, sale / divestment of real estate investments, due diligence, compliance, corporate secretarial matters; (ii) drafting, reviewing legal documents to be filed before various legal forums including courts/tribunals.

- Supporting the investment and asset management team on day to day legal issues with respect to the portfolio of assets advised by Lapis.

- Assisting the team in responding to investor queries, liaising with the fund managers and administrators in Mauritius.

Qualifications And Skills

- Law degree from a leading law school in India and about 5 to 7 years' post qualification experience in India; with some experience in a reputable law firm. The candidate must have prior transactional and disputes experience including experience of dealing with joint ventures, foreign investment into India, disputes relating to joint ventures, foreign investment, investor disputes, NCLT and IBC related matters. Some experience in RERA related matters will be useful. Admitted to practice law in India.

- Articulate, with great communication and drafting skills and highly effective in English.

- Willing to work in a growing small entrepreneurial team, competent, accurate, proactive, resourceful, independent, organised, with high ethical standards and integrity, able to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines, address risk, achieve results, an effective time manager with strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster/manage relationships across multiple stakeholders.
