Lapis Introduction

Lapis India Capital (Lapis), is a privately held investment advisor in India, with offices in Mumbai. Lapis has two main businesses - 1) providing non-binding real estate investment advisory services to global institutional investors, club/commingled, discretionary funds with respect to opportunistic investments in India real estate and 2) providing portfolio management services to clients seeking to invest in public equity in India.

Lapis is looking to hire an Analyst for its Portfolio Management Services business who will help the team make investment decisions.

The candidate should be/have:

- 2-4 years of experience working as an analyst on the buy-side

- CA/CFA preferred

- Strong work ethic and high integrity

- Passionate about investing in stock markets

- Excellent in MS Excel - Financial Modeling and Financial Statement Analysis (P&L, BS, Cashflow)

- Good understanding of Equity Valuation methods - PE, EV/EBITDA, DCF, and other commonly used valuation methods

Job Description

- Work as part of the investment team to generate investment ideas - from watchlists, running screens, interaction with industry, sellside/etc

- Researching investment ideas - industry research, historic financial statement analysis and financial modeling, management interaction through meetings/calls/etc, competitive advantage analysis, primary research with distributors/dealers/customers/vendors

- Preparation of investment thesis - investment argument, return expectations, risk analysis

- Working with the team to make investment decisions, portfolio position sizing

- Establishing relationships with management of companies, sector/industry experts to enhance proprietary sector knowledge

- Analysis of quarterly results, industry data

- Contribute to portfolio management administration - client onboarding, client reports, fund accounting etc.
