Team Lead - UK Accounts


Job Description:


- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.


- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy of financial data.

- Yearend Accounts and Tax Preparation Support: Work with accountants to gather necessary financial information and documentation for yearend accounts production and tax return preparation.

- Ensure delivery of financial statements per the defined SLA for TAT and quality for clients assigned.

- Review and track delivery schedules for financials and other deliverables. Coordinate with clients to ensure deliverables & client expectations are met.

- Trouble shooting - Client issues/ queries/ escalations/ team issues - Single point of contact for any issue related to assigned clients.

- Software Proficiency: Use accounting software (predominantly VT and occasion QuickBooks and Xero) proficiently to perform bookkeeping tasks efficiently.

- Communication: Liaise with colleagues to clarify bookkeeping matters and resolve discrepancies.

Problem Solving:

- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner.

- Oversee other accounting associates and ensure they are adhering to procedures and deadlines.

- Communicating: Communicate all absences to UK team

- Managing team absence: Ensure cover is provided.

- Performance appraisals: Carry out performance appraisals with the team.

Expertise you bring:

- Qualifications: Com /M. Com/ CA- Inter

Proven impact:

- 6-8 years of experience in accounting outsourcing industry. UK Accounting BPO experience is preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Stakeholder and client management

- The ability to prioritise workloads.

- The ability to take initiative and work without supervision.

- A professional and hard-working attitude.

- Experience in a practice environment dealing with small & mid-size businesses.

- Very strong accounting concepts. Experience with UK tax laws, rules and regulations.

- Respectful, trustworthy, polite, honest, and strong work ethic

- Experience leading a team.

Basics to join us:

- Prior work experience in MNC & matrix organisation.

- IT/ITES, Accounting industry is an advantage.
