Manager - Business Development and Strategy (Urban Water & infrastructure

KPMG is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager to join our team. This individual will be a key player in shaping business development strategies and driving growth in the urban water, wastewater, and infrastructure sectors. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in business development and strategy, combined with a proven track record of administering data-driven and tech-based solutions to address complex challenges in urban water, water resources, and infrastructure projects. The role will require willingness to travel extensively to engage with clients, support project delivery, and expand our business presence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage business development efforts, driving growth and expanding KPMG's footprint in the urban water, wastewater, water resources and infrastructure sectors.

- Administer and implement data-driven and technology solutions to improve efficiency, sustainability, and performance across the mentioned sectors.

- Work closely with clients to define their business challenges, develop strategic roadmaps, and implement tech-enabled solutions that address issues in sectors.

- Contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions to tap emerging avenues, focusing on sustainability, water resource management, and wastewater treatment.

- Apply business strategy expertise to drive digital transformation within the sector, incorporating emerging technologies such as AI, data analytics, and IoT into solutions.

- Lead and manage the execution of consulting projects, ensuring they are delivered with high quality, on time, and within budget.

- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in technology in water supply and water resources, digital transformation, and data analytics in the sector.

- Engage with senior stakeholders to build lasting relationships with clients in the G&PS, and identify new business opportunities, translating strategic insights into actionable plans.

- Stay at the forefront of developments in urban infrastructure, trends in water resource management, climate change, ensuring KPMG remains a leader in providing innovative, sustainable solutions.

- Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and high performance within the team.

- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel extensively to meet clients, attend industry events, and support the delivery of projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B. Tech) and an MBA from a recognized institution.

- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of consulting experience with a focus on Urban Water Infrastructure, water resources, and wastewater management, and a demonstrated track record in business strategy, business development, and delivering data-driven solutions.

- Proven ability to design and administer tech-enabled solutions that leverage AI, data analysis, IoT, and other emerging technologies in urban infrastructure and water management.

- Strong background in strategic planning and business development, with experience translating insights into successful outcomes.

- Expertise in driving business growth through digital transformation in water and wastewater sectors.

- Quantitative skills with the ability to analyze data, generate insights, and make data-driven recommendations for clients.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with senior clients and build strong relationships.

- A dynamic, proactive approach with a passion for using technology and data to solve complex problems in the infrastructure and water management sectors.

- Willingness to travel at least 40% of the time, as required by client engagements and project delivery.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams on large-scale urban water, infra, water resources, and wastewater projects.

- Prior experience in water, water resources, wastewater sector, sustainability frameworks, climate change solutions, and their application to infrastructure and water management.

- Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to water resources, urban water infrastructure, wastewater treatment, and sustainability.

- Prior experience of working with IFIs, donor agencies, and other international and national agencies in the domain
