International Program Operations Role - Commercial Insurance
Responsibilities:
- International Programs are a core element of our Commercial Insurance proposition. We help our customers to protect their business and assets globally thanks to an international network of offices and insurance partner companies.
- By joining the International Programs Department, you will become one of the Business Unit's subject matter experts to support the execution and servicing of our International Program receiving business (also known as incoming business).
- At the start, you will also be playing a pivotal role in setting up the International Program operations in India including planning/operationalization of various processes, governance frameworks and rolling out of related system/tools.
- You will develop partnership and operate as the trusted advisor to Underwriters who are based overseas, in particular to support the translation of their underwriting intent into a compliant local solution in India for their multinational clients and safeguard the correct interpretation and application of underwriting practices and procedures as well as re-insurance procedures.
- You will collaborate with like-minded colleagues internationally and support each other to deliver high quality and consistent services across the International Programs network.
- You will also interact with brokers and customers to implement and manage their global programs, as well as to implement the receiving policies for the subsidiaries of multinational companies.
- Communicates directly with customers and brokers in respect of the services provided by the worldwide IP network.
- Handles multiple lines of business (Property, Engineering, Liability, Financial Lines, Marine Cargo)
- Communicates effectively within the IPZ network, and manage and resolve issues related to the international programs (instructions, monitoring, issuance, payment)
- Meets stipulated timeframes and executes the assigned portfolio with high quality.
- Ensures and maintains data quality and integrity in systems used.
- Follows up and manages cash collection.
- Prepares and executes premium settlements with facultative reinsurers.
- Makes quality checks on reinsurance bordereaux.
- Acts as the local contact person for the customers and brokers in respect of services provided by the worldwide network.
- Provides program overviews and statistics by producing reports from the reporting platform.
- Supports underwriters/relationship leaders in enhancing the international program solution as a service and network specialist.
- Prepares and delivers service presentations to broker/customers.
- Interprets instructions, checking for accuracy and correctness, performing quality checks as appropriate.
- Participates in LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement measurements.
- Contributes and supports the design, testing and implementation of IP projects.
Experience & Attributes:
- Masters degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or relevant specialization
- 8+ years of experience in commercial insurance (insurance companies or brokers). Prior experience with Property insurance, as well as Marine Cargo and / or Casualty insurance, international insurance programs and/or reinsurance accounting is preferred.
- Proficient communications skills in English. Additional languages are an asset.
- Open minded, ability to work and adjust with people from different backgrounds, countries, and cultures.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong execution focus and willingness to drive things to the next level.
- Strong customer service mindset paired with a proofed track-record in service delivery and operational excellence.
- Excellent relationship building skills as well as negotiating and influencing skills for interactions at all seniority levels, strong team player.
- Transformational background and/or change management skills is a strong plus.
- Project management skills and knowledge of project management tools, methodology and best practice is a strong plus.
- Eager to learn and discover new technical matters and the ability to deliver technical messages to colleagues located abroad.
- Attention to detail (important for both IT systems and policy documentation)
- Ability to anticipate and to look proactively for the necessary information.
- Ability to produce reports and to identify the key actions to be taken on his/her own portfolio.
