Job Responsibilities:

The position of Technical Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting daily process chains (data loads) for McCormick’s multiple instance data warehouse environment. This position works closely with the U.S. based Business Intelligence Application Development team, as well as the Global Solutions Center as needed. This person will serve as a proactive business partner and as part of a global team to enable business processes through technology in an integrated enterprise systems environment.

Key Role and Primary Responsibilities:

The key role is monitoring the daily/nightly load processes from multiple SAP source systems to SAP Business Warehouse and related tools.

Global Data Warehouse Load Management

- Monitor daily / weekly / monthly process chain execution

- Attempt to resolve load issues and elevate significant issues as appropriate

- Provide support for ad-hoc and off cycle load requests as approved/needed

- Provides ongoing responsibility for load related failure prevention and resolution

System Maintenance and Upgrade Support

- Perform pre system update activities, including (but not limited to):

- Clear delta queues

- Set up tables

- Other tasks as needed

Perform post system upgrade activities, including (but not limited to):

- Verify delta queues

- Closely monitor loads

- Other tasks as needed

General system consistency checks after maintenance windows

- Optimization and Process Improvement

- Regularly assess process chains and suggest obsolete and non-value added load components that can be removed or re-architected

- Seek constant improvement opportunities and appropriately challenge processes to ensure global efficiency and consistency

Additional Responsibilities

- Completes tasks as assigned to meet project deadlines and support Service Level Agreement’s

- Create assigned info objects in development system

- Create/update formulas, descriptions, etc. as needed

- May occasionally require interaction with other McIT teams

Desired Skills & Experience:

- Internship experience in relevant field (Business Systems or IT) preferred.

- Experience or strong familiarity with SAP ECC 6.0 (R/3) and BW 7.0 and 7.3 preferred.

- At least 1-2 years of technical systems development (especially data warehousing) experience required.

- At least 1-2 years of process chain / data warehouse load monitoring an issue resolution experience preferred.

- Basic understanding of technical systems analysis required.

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or similar required.

- 4 or more years of overall IT application support and project experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

- Object based programming experience preferred.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

- Familiarity with basic Project Management processes preferred.

- Multi-cultural project experience preferred.
