Business Systems Analyst – Logistics
Job Responsibilities:
The business systems analyst would be responsible for implementing business driven applications through research, analysis and testing. Role serves as the primary contact for our business partners in the Logistics process area. The analyst works with business users to define scope and objectives for system solutions to business requirements.
Key Role and Primary Responsibilities:
As part of the McCormick IT Logistics team, the Business Systems Analyst would be responsible for:
Global business support
- Configuration of the SAP modules relating to warehousing, handling units and transportation
- First level contact of the business for any inquiries including systems support, improvement analyses, and advice.
- Provides ongoing responsibility for system failure prevention, system problem calls and user inquiries.
- This includes regular system maintenance and support which will require some evening, weekend and on-call support.
- Seeks constant improvement opportunities and appropriately challenges processes to ensure global consistency.
Project
- Responsible for system requirements, detailed functional specifications, system configuration, unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance, and deployment.
- Provides post-implementation process and application support.
- Assists with development of training materials and trains power users.
- Evaluate and develops reliable and efficient solutions to fulfil the business requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Completes tasks to meet project deadlines and support Service Level Agreement’s.
- Generates ideas for products and services which results in a return on investment for the company.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- BA/BS degree preferred, with specialization in Information Systems, Supply Chain, or Business Administration. Five or more years of overall IT application support and project experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 3 yrs. previous experience in a Logistics discipline (Warehousing and Transportation) -
Required.
- Basic understanding of Logistics system and processes – Required.
- A good understanding of business systems analysis - Required.
- Minimum one full lifecycle implementation of SAP application in Logistics area - Preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - Required.
- Experience and knowledge of integration of Logistic processes within a FMCG Supply Chain - Preferred.
- Experience of Transportation systems and processes – Preferred.
- Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 (R/3) including handling unit management- Preferred.
- Familiarity with Project Management processes – Preferred.
- Configuration and Support experience of SAP EWM - Preferred.
