Role Narrative for : Head - Brand and Media
Direct Reporting Relationship : Marketing Head
Base Location : Chennai
1. Role Summary:
The Head - Brand and Media, will work closely with Marketing Head to shape the overall strategy & positioning for Company. He / she would oversee the operations of the junior team members and guide them in the process. He would have 2 second-in-line managers reporting for day-to-day operations.
2. Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of Head Brand and Media would include, but are not limited to the following:
Brand:
- Understanding Consumer Trends
- Brand positioning - Adherence to Brand Guidelines
- Managing the agency - Managing the Celebrity
- Creative - Print, TVC, Showroom, Van, Brand Collaterals etc
- Understanding the Industry Trends
Marketing operations:
- Work closely with Marketing Head to shape the overall strategy and positioning for Company
- Define overall budget for Company and allocate by geography depending on strategy
- Define overall media-mix for Company and allocate between ATL, BTL and outdoor
ATL Operations:
- Work closely with Manager, ATL to define the messaging & media brief for various ATL activity
- Allocate ATL budget by geographies, time-period etc.
- Work closely with Manger, ATL to develop annual ATL plan across locations
- Supervise execution of ATL activities along with Manager, ATL
- Interact with design agency for developing creative
- Interact with media agency to develop exact media mix for Company
- Inculcate best-practices for ATL operations in Company
BTL Operations:
- Work closely with Manager, BTL to define the objectives for various ATL activity
- Allocate BTL budget by geographies, time-period etc.
- Work closely with Manger, BTL to develop annual BTL plan across locations
- Supervise execution of BTL activities along with Manager, BTL
- Inculcate best-practices for ATL operations in Company
Outdoor Operations:
- Work closely with Manager, outdoor to define the objectives for various outdoor activity
- Allocate outdoor budget by geographies, time-period etc.
- Work closely with Manger, outdoor to develop annual outdoor plan across locations
- Supervise execution of outdoor activities along with Manager, outdoor
- Inculcate best-practices for outdoor operations in Company
People management & Review:
- Develop a strong team to take care of Marketing operations
- Evaluates progress against annual plans
- Ensure staff are motivated and organized to exceed performance targets
- Motivate, nurture, and develop staff; Promote an atmosphere of teamwork
3. Desired Competencies:
To perform this job successfully, following competencies are critical:
- Good understanding of Consumers and Brand
- Strong knowledge in marketing operations of organization
- Strategic thinking - Identifying external threats and opportunities; adapting strategy to changing conditions.
Business Acumen :
- Understanding business implications of decisions; Orientation for overall cost to company, profitability & sales.
Planning & managerial skills :
- Ability to create & track annual plans, manage personnel & motivate team
- Ability to build good working relationships with multiple internal & external stakeholders
- Excellent & diverse verbal communication skills ability to interact with multiple stake holders from different backgrounds & sophistication levels
4. Profile:
Experience:
- 10-15 years in marketing role in a reputed organization. At least 5 years in a middle management role
- MBA in Marketing from reputed school
- Ability to converse fluently in multiple languages Hindi, English, essential. Optional Tamil, Kannada, Telugu
