Title: Head, Manufacturing Operations

Base Location: Bangalore

Travel: 50%

Kapiva is recruiting a Head of Manufacturing Operations with at least 10 years of experience in FMCG or Ayurveda in a manufacturing role (Production manager/contract manufacturing management) and has experience in project management of Green/Brownfield projects

The scope of this role is to manage manufacturing operations across all 3P vendors and lead the Greenfield/Brownfield plant setup.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Management:

- Closely work with cross-functional teams to coordinate and ensure on-time project completion.

- Lead the project design in the Greenfield/Brownfield project, providing inputs to user requirement specifications development, operational needs, and constraints

- Make manufacturing dossier for new facility and contract/3P manufacturing units Supplier and Vendor Management:

- Ensure smooth operations of existing contract/3P manufacturing operations

- Identify and ensure seamless start-up of new contract/3P manufacturing units

- Resolve supplier issues and manage relationships to ensure compliance with agreements.

- To lead contracting with inputs from legal & other departments.

- Coordinate and visit manufacturing premises and ensure all processes are in place for launches and new product development.

Process Improvements and Execution:

- Analyze workflow, remove bottlenecks, and set up best practices in exiting contract/3P manufacturing and new facility

- Coordinate product/process permits & licenses with project managers, quality managers, and regulatory teams

- Ensure CGMP, Safety in all plant operations

- Ensure that the best practices are included in the equipment, process flow, space design, and CGMP in the new facility

Cost Negotiations:

- Identify cost reduction opportunities in the Plant operations with the 3P

- Execute the improvement processes to garner constant savings

An Ideal Candidate for this role:

- Masters Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field

- Should have a minimum of 10 years of work experience in a similar manufacturing role (Production manager/contract manufacturing management) and have experience in project management of Green/Brownfield projects

- Highly developed ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping

- Highly developed ability to ensure working relationships are harmonious and focused on achieving common objectives

- Highly developed ability in man management, to train/coach people in collaboration with HR

- Good knowledge of CGMP requirements, manufacturing best practices, operational excellence, problem-solving CAPA, TPM, Productivity tools, and quality standards

- Proficient in Packing/Process equipment, automation in plant operations, boilers, HVAC systems, and other utilities

- Well-documented experience as a specialist within the key areas of function (preferably line experience will help)

- Pride in contributing to the reputation and performance of the company, personal relations based on trust, and mutual respect.

- Positive attitude towards others in the team, combined with an ability to communicate openly and frankly leading to a positive work culture.

- Able to travel 50% of the time to meet vendors and suppliers as necessary
