Safety Manager


Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators):

- Establish and streamline Incident Investigation Management

- Lead in using the high end tools like Taproot, propagate and support all businesses to strengthen its effective usage

- Track closeout of recommended actions arising from the critical incidents

- Felt leadership Workshops, Capability building of the team by developing SME on various JSW Group standards

- Develop e-learning module on critical activities, develop incident learning videos

- Run various safety campaigns to sensitize employees, associates and contract workmen

- Monitoring and ensuring the MIS, MySetu effectiveness

- Tracking of Contractor Field Safety Audit severity rate and work closely with CSM subcommittees

- Update time to time benchmarking details with COE/ Subcommittees

- Establish VFL (Visual Felt Leadership) courses and run through across the business

- Formulate Audit methodology and plan for third party/corporate safety audit

- Work with external agencies to get third party audit conducted to meet the Group Safety Council requirement

- Ensure timely completion of audits findings and reporting to management

- Periodically updating of Group level standards and developing new standards as and when required

- Tracking of Safety Observation compliance and monitoring of Standards, Rules and Procedure implementation through the respective sub committees

- Establish Group level consequence management and Rewards & Recognition standards

- Organizing periodic Group Safety Council meeting (preparing presentations and tracking MOM compliance)

- Organizing group level safety event

Critical Tasks:

- Establish third party audit protocol

- Developing/Updating (as and when) exhaustive audit protocol for audits, developing lead auditors, coordination with the site and ensure unbiased reports. Monitoring audit quality and audit finding compliance and reporting the same to Group Safety Council.

- Cascading best practices from the audits finding across the JSW Group

- Facilitate audits as per business requirement

- Monitoring of standards implementation across the group through Standards, Rules and Procedure Subcommittees

- Derive and establish uniform Consequence management standard against safety deviations from letdown safety standards across the Group and at the units

- Institutionalize a system of Reward and Recognize for good safety performance across all businesses

- Effective implementation of the Group Safety Council MOM points within the agreed timelines.

- Establish incident investigation tool and Leading in critical incident investigations across the JSW Group

- Develop SME's across the units and groups for Incident Investigation

- Ensuring timely closure of Investigation thereafter releasing safety alerts

- Data analytics of leading and Lag indicators

- Working closely with businesses and subcommittees to facilitate usage of safety modules with in MySetu

- Driving need basis safety campaigns at regular intervals

- Convener for company level ( Starting with Steel business) subcommittees Incident Investigation and Contractor Safety Management

- Driving Visual Felt Leadership program for employees, contractors and associate employees

- Developing Safety Professionals across the JSW Group

- Develop 3-D animations videos of High Potential and Lag indicators incidents
