Position: Head Direct Taxation
Reporting to Deputy CFO Location: MumbaiKey Result Areas: - Tax Compliance: - To plan, organize and control various Direct Tax Compliances of JSW Steel Ltd and its subsidiaries to ensure timely compliance. To review tax compliances of Foreign investments/subsidiaries/JV's.
- Tax Administration: -To represent / handle tax matters diligently and efficiently before various tax authorities and Courts to minimize tax exposure and litigation risks.
- Tax optimization - To optimize the tax for JSW Steel and its subsidiaries
- To continuously monitor implementation of plans to achieve target savings, review and recommend automation and digitization measures of systems and processes at all the plants and corporate office in the field of Direct Taxation.
Critical Tasks:- Review of Provision for Tax, Deferred Tax, Effective Tax rate and Advance Tax Calculations and other quarter closing related activities, Tax Balance sheet and review of Deferred Tax position and Tax disclosures in the Balance sheet
- Review of Tax Audit, Transfer pricing reports and benchmarking, certifications u/s 80 JJA thereof , Master file and Country by Country reporting etc. and Review of tax returns of JSW Steel Limited and its subsidiaries
- Review of submission and details before tax authorities for Assessments and Appeals and appearing before Tax authorities.
- Briefing Senior counsels for Litigation matters before appellate forums.
- Advisory on withholding tax applicability and providing opinion on issue of 15CA/CB/Tax clearances in respect of remittance of various payments to non-residents and Foreign companies and ensuring Domestic TDS/TCS payments and compliances.
- Monitoring tax compliances of overseas subsidiaries and Tax implication on Foreign investments and
- Providing input on Merger &Acquisition transactions and Business Reorganisations
- Review and release of Tax Transparency reports under sustainability requirements.
Decision making authority (Decisions expected):- High level of integrity and interpretational skills
Educational Background and Work Experience:- CA with over 15 years' Experience and preferably from the large conglomerate /industry /Big4 and having good exposure of digital environment.
