Asset Reference Data Services (ARDS)
ARDS was created with the mission to help improve the quality, integrity, and reliability of the firm's critical data covering the Instrument and Pricing domains and sits within Securities Services. The organization's objectives are to deliver business impact through fit-for-purpose data, improve data capabilities across multiple lines of businesses (LOBs), implement data controls, and deliver reference data. ARDS establishes expectations that drive consistent data governance practices, develops technologies and processes to support data governance capabilities, partners with LOBs to embed data governance best practices and capabilities, and ensures sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the ability to manage data.
Within ARDS the Instrument and Pricing Reference Data Operations teams provide high quality Reference Data to its subscribers from major external market providers under a single operating model. Asset prices and instrument attributes are sourced, validated, mastered and distributed via J.P. Morgan's strategic Reference Data architecture and is used for trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for contributing to the success and overall execution of the strategic agenda within Asset Reference Data
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of individuals responsible for the creation/maintenance of the Instrument & Common Reference Data on our core platform.
- Responsible for Performance Management of team members as well as develop and coach of existing talent.
- Assist with defining and implementing a succession plan for members of the team.
- Ensure proper controls are in place to reduce financial risks, implement procedures to enforce controls and ensure controls are adhered to.
- Project management capabilities on Operations initiatives and projects related to productivity, process streamlining and automation
- Represent Operations views and concerns on initiatives that have both technology and operations components
- Provide support for our Adoptions program and to the Instrument Data Operations team
- Assist where needed with the management of the productivity stream and that will contribute to the annual productivity targets for Operations
- Responsible for Data and process, special projects and analyses that are impacting the strategic reference data platform
- Responsible for the timely execution of project tasks, stakeholder updates, resolving and escalating issues.
- Partner with technology team and Operations team to deliver change to our production environment.
- Design and implement controlled operational processes to meet specific business needs
- Candidate may also be required to perform Business Analysis tasks within the role in addition to the overall management of initiatives.
Qualifications/Eligibility:
- 8+ years' experience within Financial Services ideally in a data management
- Experience in Operations Management, with solid risk and controls awareness
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically with respect to data, technology, risk/control and operations agendas
- People Management - candidate review and assessment, performance management, training and development planning, objective setting
- Good leadership, influencing & communication skills with the ability to work with others at all levels and across disciplines in a virtual organisation.
- Indepth knowledge of handling and managing Futures and Option Asset Reference Data
- Domain knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income and Derivatives products
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and related experience
- Ability to deal with issues on a global, cross business levels
- Strong team attitude
- Proactive and pragmatic approach - recognized as someone who get things done
- Self-starter, able to work autonomously, under pressure and to fixed deadlines
- Strong practical experience of Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
