description: APAC Securities Settlements is responsible for supporting settlements of equities and fixed income trades and corporate action controls for JPM Asia Legal Entities and JPMorgan Affiliates in Asian markets. The team's primary function is to ensure providing accurate settlement related information to the Middle Offices and Client Service Teams and to ensure timely settlement of trades in the market.

Job Functions/Responsibilities

As a Manager in Securities Operations, he/she will execute error free operations and identify and escalate any exceptions. He/She will comply with the firms policies and SOPs; identify opportunities for process efficiency and implement in a controlled manner (highlight recurring issues/question rationale behind each process and understand cascading impacts); and exhibit effective communication with key stakeholders. He/she will also participate in training opportunities; enhance your skill set of the various processes within the department and cross train colleagues on individual processes. He/She will have a thorough knowledge of SOPs/related check points, act as a disciplined and positive team member, operate as one team and act and think like an owner and partner.

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the day to day operations for settlement/transaction processing for trades received from global and domestic clients. Incumbent should possess knowledge on equities, warrants, bonds and thorough knowledge about trade life cycle. He/she should have the ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines. Can effectively work in teams; liaise with internal clients, client services & relationship managers.

Job Responsibilities:

- The primary responsibility is to provide the supervisory support, in the day to day management of the business deliverables of the team, such as release of trade instructions, reopening and settlement of trades from the core settlement systems, inventory/position management and inter-company reconciliation prior to settlement date, among others.

- Accountability for service quality of the team. Ensure operational procedures are followed and that tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

- Provide first level of supervision to the staff during business hours.

- Support the process Vice President in their mission to provide top quality operations in support of this global business.

- Ensure that procedures are documented and that the documentation is updated periodically.

- Identify requirements for additional controls

- Daily investigation and escalation of any issues

- Provide daily/weekly statistics

- Participate in global and local projects including new business, system enhancements and market rule changes.

- Process re-engineering to enhance efficiency and controls

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

- Generally 5-6 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services/ Treasury environment or related function.

- Familiarity with products and services.

- Experience in Trade Management & Settlements.

- Strong Control & Audit mindset and understanding of policies/regulations in the industry

- Flexibility to work on holidays / extended working hours on high volume days, if required.

- Ability to work under dynamic environment and under pressure to meet deadlines and productivity/quality goals.

- Good PC skills including Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access).

- Good written & spoken English communication skills, exhibits effective communication with key stakeholders.

- Strong communication, organization and leadership skills.

- Able to provide coaching and guidance on all aspects necessary processes.

- Good relationship-building and time management skills

- Graduate or Post Graduate preferably 6-7 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services/ Treasury environment
