The Reference Data Technology team provides reference data delivery solutions delivering Client, Account, Document, Instrument, Finance and Core Reference across all LOB's.
We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for the technical delivery of the strategic client reference data platform including:
- Provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. Utilize mature (3rd or 4th Generation) programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
- Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps.
- Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
- Additionally, document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules. Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation. Support production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Design and Development of key functionality within the application
- Make sure to carry out design reviews/code reviews at agreed points throughout the project life cycle to ensure definition-of-done (DoD)
- Work closely with the vendor development team to monitor the design/development undertaken by them
- Earlier experience of hands on design and development of technical artifacts
- Participate in technical reviews, define/Improve processes on configuration management, deployment and resiliency planning for the application.
Qualifications
Competencies:
Essential:
- Strong Agile experience and a seasoned Scrum Master
- Have been the Scrum Master for more than one team
- Coached the team on Agile methodologies, Scrum, Pair Programming, etc.
- Conducted agile maturity assessments, agile trainings, etc. and enhanced the maturity by working closely with PO
- Exposure to UI development, design patterns of J2EE & OO
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills
- A delivery focused approach to work and the ability to work without direction
Desirable Backgorund (if any):
- Strong technical development experience in effectively writing code, code reviews, best practices on configuration management and code refactoring
- Good background of Java, J2EE development experience
- Proficiency in SQL and Database development
- HTML5 / Angular JS Development skills
- Exposure to BPM tools, preferably JBPM
- Exposure to Rules Engine, preferably Drools
- Experience or knowledge of client reference data as it relates to an Investment Bank would be an advantage
- An understanding of the investment banking and reference data experience Exposure to Git, Maven, Confluence, Crucible, Sonar and JIRA is desirable
Essential Experience:
- 6 - 11 years of work experience
- 1 - 3 years of experience with being a scrum master
- 2-4 year experience within an investment-banking environment, preferably within the Client information space
- Exposure to technology development projects and the full technology development lifecycle
- Excellent Communication and Inter-personal skills, both with business customers and with fellow IT professionals (Business Analysts, Project Managers and Developers).
- Strong problem-solving skills
- A delivery focused approach to work and the ability to work without direction
- Ability to multi-task and Ability to work towards target deadlines.
