This role is for an Analyst in Data Governance team of CCIC based in Mumbai. This is a newly created role and reports into the head of CCIC Mumbai. The person will work on various data governance initiatives pertaining to counterparty exposures and will work closely with Infrastructure & Controls team of CCIC.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strong understanding of counterparty credit risk data lineage and exposure calculation infrastructure
- Work closely with the local CCIC and Credit teams and the global CCIC data governance leads to assist in addressing data quality aspects relevant to counterparty risk
- Envisage effective controls and develop robust data governance process around counterparty credit risk infrastructure; maintain comprehensive documentation of implemented controls
- Maintain logs of key data issues (including feed delays, stale data, missing feeds/data); escalate these issues in appropriate forums
- Actively track material risk data exceptions and partner with relevant business/Tech teams for timely remediation of data issues
- Produce a comprehensive data quality MIS deck on a quarterly basis, encapsulating key data issues and action plans around those
- Provide local support for project management of major initiatives and oversight of action plans and other internal and external commitments
- Lead effort on resolution of data governance aspects of regulatory MRAs
- Represent CCIC on Tech infrastructure convergence/migration projects and liaise with the concerned CCIC teams on evaluation of any potential data impact of convergence/migration
- Communicate effectively to multiple levels of management and various stakeholders in Credit Risk, Gauss, Credit Risk Technology, QR and Operations on control gaps, projects, automation of existing processes, issue resolutions etc. and provide recommendations
Essential skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Significant relevant experience of credit/market risk infrastructure in a top tier peer bank
- Experience of coordinating complex data governance projects
- Ability to influence diverse groups and to negotiate with different teams to get plans rolling
- Attitude of tenaciously following an issue until its final resolution
- Excellent partnership and team management skills
- Strong organizational, control, project management and communication skills
