- WKO CC organization is seeking a highly talented individual to join as a lead for Funds/Investment Managers Client type. This client segment team performs all types of KYC i.e. New Client / New Business and periodic renewals on Funds, Sub-Funds, Investment managers and Self-managed funds across all geographical countries.
- The objective of the team is to identify unique KYC and AML risk factors for these client segments and help mitigate the same by working with various stakeholders.
- We are looking for an individual with deep KYC policy & markets products knowledge, alongside a very good understanding of funds structures and ability to apply that knowledge to mitigate AML/Financial Crimes risk; and become trusted partners & advisors to KYC owners, desk heads and the WKO leadership team. Preferable for the individual to possess strong documentation understanding for this client segment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out review of KYC records for identification & assessment of risk and evaluate suitability of documented mitigation
- Interact with Bankers, Sales and GFCC to understand clients AML program and other risk factors and Influence Policy / procedures
- Work closely with tech partners on changes, story points and UAT / MOT testing
- Document constructive feedback for KYC owner and WKO production / MO / reviewer team's specifying areas of KYC file requiring attention, including drafting of suggested edits where appropriate
- Partner with KYC Maker and Middle Office team and Reviewer team for the successful completion of KYC file renewal as well as new client on-boarding
- Proactively identify and communicate thematic issues discovered from the risk review process to help prevent material issue
- Attend AML call with clients and lead from WKO perspective
- Act as a subject matter expert and trusted partner & advisor to KYC owners & makers / reviewers with the ability to successfully influence parties as needed
- Deliver transformational KYC quality improvements that will avoid audit and regulatory issues
- Demonstrate the ability to combine superior KYC policy knowledge with strong Operational execution\\
- Foster and champion High Performance Culture where people are empowered to make decisions that affect their work/environment
- Develop and lead a team that is responsive to dynamic organizational and operational changes
Qualification & skills includes:
- Understanding of investment managers and funds structures in general and specifically for APAC, EMEA & NAM countries
- Self-managed funds and how they are different from those managed by investment managers
- Familiar with Concept of sub-advised funds
- Able to dissect across various funds structures and determine how and where business relation is/should be established
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, Strong client focus and interpersonal leadership, partnership and influencing skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex risk assessment, policy and operational
- Concepts to both senior management and junior operational staff
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and compliance policies and procedures when establishing guidelines, metrics, and processe
- Strong understanding of markets and cash management products and how it affects AML and KYC considerations
- Overall experience of 15-18 years out of which minimum of 8-10 years of AML, Compliance, audit, legal or KYC experience preferably in Corporate and Investment Banking
- Graduate (BS/BA Degree) or Post graduate (MBA or other post graduate degree like Chartered Accountant) is a plus and have at least 5-6 years of solid industry experience in the Funds domain
