Responsibilities :
- Process queries against data element locations to build profiling information and measure impact and information related to specific elements.
- Create relevant framework to ensure data quality, and tracking of core metrics to inspire confidence in data.
- Analyze and document metadata using workflow tools to process output.
- Assist in root cause analysis by investigating data quality issues and recommending solutions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, business partners, and control partners to document impacts of data quality up and down stream.
- Assess accuracy of analytics, and ensure accuracy around documentation of systems of record, authoritative sources, and their usage.
- Expected to join multiple databases and systems together in more complex queries that require sophistication and knowledge.
- To work with Data Domain Owners, Data Owners and Data Stewards to produce specific definitions of data quality criteria, KPI's, business rules and service levels and to drive appropriate remediation activity for each data asset
- To support in defining, usage and application of data quality improvement tools, methods, standards and procedures
- Support the business with the design and execution of controls to address privacy business requirements and mitigate privacy risks
- Assess the impact of privacy regulatory changes on the business & technology operations, processes or procedures, including modifications needed. Provide transparency to the Privacy Champion and Privacy Compliance Lead into the LOB preparedness for complying with regulatory change
- Partner the Privacy Champion and business with preparing for privacy related exams, compliance tests and internal audits and notify and engage Privacy Compliance Leads during such reviews
- Provide transparency to business and compliance management through accurate reporting and metrics based on identified business risks, results of self-assessments, control environment, tests, audits and external events with potential impact to the business.
- Evaluate new projects, suppliers, technologies through the appropriate firmwide control processes e.g. TPO, NBIA, IAS
- Partner with Privacy Champion and Privacy Compliance Lead with cascading privacy communications throughout the business to improve awareness of privacy requirements
- Partner with the Privacy Champion with the proper delivery and completion of Privacy training and work with Privacy Compliance Lead to develop LOB/Product specific training and awareness campaigns to address emerging risks or control deficiencies
Experience and skills required:
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions
- Proactive/self-starter with the ability to deliver value-added support to business partners in a dependable, timely and accurate manner
- Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment
- Ability to extract information by questioning, active listening and interviewing
- Highly developed planning, organization and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices
- Prior experience in regulatory implementation of data controls (e.g. GDPR).
- Familiarity with the UK Privacy Act, UK Data Protection Act
- Ability to translate technical issues in data management to business impacts in relation to the Data Governance Domains e.g. data quality, usage, security and controls.
- Understanding of data management and information management principles in general and in relation to the systems.
- Experience in implementing privacy requirements into business practices (processes & procedures) and conducting privacy, operational and/or technology risk assessments
- Basic knowledge of either Python or Java and basic query writing and execution using SQL or other data analysis tools.
- Preferred candidate is also familiar with implementing complex data entitlements, AVRO schema evolution and AWS.
- Prior experience/knowledge of the Data Architecture and repository creation, metadata management and understanding of data retention policies will be an added advantage.
