Data Analytics/Transformation Associate - Compliance Conduct & Operational Risk

Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm's Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk mission. The CCOR function ensures the development and maintenance of a strong controls culture, by developing and maintaining a program infrastructure that identifies, measures, and monitors Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk adherence. CCOR works closely with Business, Controls, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Audit functions to provide expertise on risk matters, assess and measure related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's control environment.
The role of our 2 nd Line of Defense CCOR organization is to support the company in maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and operational compliance with both the spirit and intent of the many policies, laws, rules, and regulations that govern the JP Morgan Chase Lines of Business (LOBs) and Corporate Functions.
The Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) Data Analytics Testing team is seeking a highly self-motivated individual that possesses analytical and investigative capabilities. This position will be located at the Hyderabad location of the Corporate Centers in India. The team will be covering all Lines of Business within JP Morgan - Corporate and Investment Bank, Asset Wealth Management, Commercial Bank and Consumer Community Banking.
The primary role of the CCOR M&T Data Analytics team is to transform/ automate using digital transformation tools, build machine learning models, apply statistical techniques for effective risk management practices. It shall extract relevant data from line of business systems of record to construct test populations, define testing approaches and design and document test procedures and attributes in order to perform an analysis of the results relative to the applicable policy, rules, laws and regulations governing the lines of business functions. This role will assist in enabling the transformation of CCOR M&T from a manual process based organization to one that will leverage various automated analytics tools and approaches to assess conformance with regulatory requirements impacting the LOBs and Corporate Functions
GENERAL LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Support the existing automated Testing routines:
- Build and Test Automation scripts that automate CCOR Compliance Testing activities in accordance with the firm's CCOR Monitoring & Testing procedures
- Develop and maintain program scripts to extract population data from the systems of records (SORs) to support testing activities
- Document business requirements for Automation / the build of analytics and also generate SOPs for handover of automation to the CCOR Testing team for use as BAU activity
- Update Test papers that look to document the data extraction / Automation / Analytics approach to extract data / Automate Compliance Testing activities / Drive deeper insights into Compliance Test results
- Deliver business insights to strengthen controls and compliance: Leverage basic data exploration techniques (Descriptive and prescriptive/predictive analytics) to support current testing routines that seek to measure compliance to the various laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Design, build, and execute data quality controls that ensure completeness and accuracy on risk datasets and reports
- Automation of testing models and building automated monitoring models: Partner with CCOR testers and the business to automate all testing activities and increase frequency to monitor compliance in 'close to real time'. Identify opportunities to:
- Automate the extraction of population data from the SORs
- Digitize the testing activities (Automate all testing and increase frequency of monitoring
Optimization and strengthening of Monitoring Models :
- Partner with the Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence team to enhance and optimize automated monitoring models that not only measure current compliance but also future compliance risks
Deliver Value: Deliver concrete analytical solutions to existing/new business problems using a combination of business understanding as well as machine learning / AI tools and techniques

Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent
- Overall Experience - 3 - 6 years in Automation / Model building. , Experience of working in an Audit / Testing / Compliance or risk management environment will be additionally preferred but not mandatory.
- Data Management Skills - ability to work with large volumes of data efficiently. Strong technical background and ability to manage and manipulate data extracted from systems of record
- Analytical Skills - Analyze large sets of Data to accurately measure metrics / define metrics. Analyze their datasets, their schema and metadata in the SOR architecture, to be able to define business context and drive automation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Effective executive summarization of complex business problems and solutions
- Experience in working with Software and programming languages such as SAS / R / Python
- Good Knowledge of Automation tools like Alteryx, Power BI and Xceptor
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Applications
- Ability to effectively multi task - work on 3 - 4automation request concurrently
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Strong practical knowledge of analytical techniques and methodologies such as machine learning
- Strong understanding of data profiling and data cleansing techniques
- Ability to develop and implement state of the art, fully scalable - various machine learning models / algorithms for risk detection, classification, prediction to aid in continuous monitoring and testing activities. (In partnership with a the AI and Machine learning team)
