AWM PAG - CWM Projects Associate
Description: The Portfolio Analysis Group is responsible for performance measurement & attribution and portfolio analytics for external clients and serves as a value-added source of insight, independent analysis and thought leadership for internal clients including portfolio managers, front office advisors, sales & marketing and senior management. Analysis types and activities include, but are not limited to, rate of return calculations, return attribution, ex post risks, competitive analysis and performance composite construction, analysis & reporting. This analysis is instrumental to help external clients understand drivers of return in their portfolios and help us internally measure the effectiveness of our products and strategies.
Job Responsibilities :
PAG seeks a highly motivated Associate in our Bangalore office to join our CWM Projects team within Wealth Management. The primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Provide the best client service experience by understanding our client's needs and developing relationships across the organization, specifically with Client Advisors, Portfolio Managers, Middle Office, Client Reporting, RFP teams and others
- Become a key contributor to the department's efforts of improving systems and technology, by actively participating in projects, requirement gathering and testing of software and system tools
- Maintain high standards of quality control checks and procedures; participate, develop and Preview controls for key business projects and business changes; be a driver of improvements
- Identifying the problem statement, project scope and key milestones, researching background, assessing risks and designing solution paths
- Coordinating of meeting with key stakeholders to create robust solutions and track implementation / success criteria
- Prioritizing project deliverables, tracking progress, escalating risks and holding stakeholders accountable for action items
- Providing various ad hoc data research and analysis as needed
- Assisting in developing strategic solutions and defining PAG requirements
- Maintaining project scorecards/key metrics for senior management
- Planning for future deliverables on the roadmap and facilitating design review sessions as needed
- Implementing increased automation processes to achieve efficiencies and ensuring that operating model enhancements are globally consistent
- Keeping a risk and control mindset throughout project life cycle
Required Qualifications, skills and capabilities:
- Comfortable in a team environment while also able to deliver on independent assignments
- Work effectively with teams and colleagues in different levels of the organization and across different geographical locations
- Knowledge of portfolio accounting principles, and performance and attribution methodologies
- Solid analytical ability to research and analyze complex data sets
- Interact and communicate effectively - written and verbal - throughout all organizational levels and roles including a strong client service mentality
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal clients, third party consultants, auditors, custodians and across all employee experience levels throughout the greater organization
- Ability to work towards tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to multi-task seamlessly while rigorously maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science (or similar discipline) from an accredited, high quality institution preferred
- CIPM/CFA or progress toward designation a plus
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint
- Consulting or Experience with portfolio performance, investments and/or products, and project management skills preferred
- Candidate must be comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading discussions/presenting.
- Action oriented with a focus on results and an innovative mindset
