The Quant Modeling Senior Associate will work as part of the CCB - Portfolio Risk Modeling team and will be responsible and not limited to the creation and maintenance of model data, writing routines to help with model development. The individual will also be responsible for adhering to the data governance policy with CCB Risk.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively research multiple and diverse data sources, recognize relevant variables and data points, and transform them into metrics and attributes to creatively represent the business.
- Engage stakeholders and consolidate partnerships to continuously understand business drivers, goals, priorities, and opportunities.
- Partner with technical subject matter experts, understand our technological environment and recommend viable end-to-end solutions, including data sources, ETL, transformation and deployment.
- Ability to manipulate and analyze data, comprehend, and explain the story it represents.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.
- Proven experience in application design and development using - Python, PySpark, R, Big Data, and Hive
- Experience on cloud computing platforms - AWS with an experience of using S3, Glue for data lake
- Good technical skills in ETL & Databases.
- Very strong quantitative skills
- At a minimum, undergraduate degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a quantitative science
- Some experience in risk at a financial services institution strongly preferred.
- Excellent communications skills - verbal and written.
- Teamwork oriented - active collaborator and self-starting individual
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Risk and Control mindset
- Ability to ask right questions and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification in AWS
- Exposure to statistical modeling or having worked in a Risk Function at a financial services institution will be an added advantage.
- (For internal candidates) - Working knowledge of internal data platforms (ICDW, OMNIAI)
