Job responsibilities:
- Searching for collections of behaviors and events that individually are innocuous but collectively indicate a likely next action in order to enable timely, relevant outreach
- Analyzing drivers of advisor performance to understand the relative impact of opportunity, behaviors, and effectiveness on acquisition and deepening outcomes
- Predicting a segment's unique financial needs within the first 3 months on book to improve engagement and deepening with new clients
- Overlaying customer and channel behaviors across our local markets and branch footprint to determine how to optimize in-person and remote staffing
- Providing expertise as to how data visualization, algorithms, machine learning, and text analytics/NLP can be leveraged to optimize sales performance
- Creating self-serve tools to access real-time information
- Identifying potential attrition events and determining how early the prediction needs to be made for any counteraction to be effective
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field with 5 - 9 years of data science / Quant analytics experience
- Expertise in SAS / Python programming to develop advanced analytical techniques
- Experience in wrangling large, complex datasets, strong database skills and ability to write, optimize and tune complex SQL scripts
- Experience in solving business problems through fact-based and scientific analytics, like to focus on solving problems
- Ability to think both independently and collaboratively to implement creative solutions that solve business problems, being diligent in the detail while maintaining focus on broader purpose and business objectives
- Recognize the stories in the data and tell them in ways that illuminate which customers are likely to do what next
- Comfortable summarizing key information and presenting recommendations to multiple stakeholders to influence senior management
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Familiarity in an insights function at a financial services firm, consulting firm, or a marketing agency
- Experience in a workforce analytics, sales performance analytics, or sales science organization
- Expertise of big data disciplines, Agile (scrum) methodologies, and new technologies
