AWM - AM - PAG - Market Risk - Associate Description : - The Chief Operating Office for Asset & Wealth Management is a centralized organization focusing on three key areas of growth, inclusive of Fintech Strategic Initiatives, Product Operating Models, and Data Science and Analytics. - The Portfolio Analysis Group ("PAG") is part of the Data Science and Analytics group within the COO function. The Portfolio Analysis Group is responsible for performance measurement & attribution and portfolio analytics for external clients and serves as a value-added source of insight, independent analysis and thought leadership for internal clients including portfolio managers, front office advisors, sales & marketing and senior management. - Analysis types and activities include, but are not limited to, rate of return calculations, return attribution, risk analysis, competitive analysis and performance composite construction, analysis & reporting. - This analysis is instrumental to help external clients understand drivers of return in their portfolios and help us internally measure the effectiveness of our products and strategies. Responsibilities : The Portfolio Analysis Group within Asset Management seeks a highly motivated individual in our Bangalore/Mumbai office, to provide Market Risk analysis supporting the Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Solutions product lines. Primary responsibilities will include : - Provide portfolio risk analysis by determining the qualitative and quantitative factors driving change in risks and exposures. - Calculate performance returns and performance attribution across the Asset Management product range, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. The role will have a focus on Equity, but will also have some coverage of Fixed Income and Multi-Asset strategies. - Become a key contributor and a driver of the department's efforts of improving systems and technology, by actively participating in projects and testing of software and system tools. - Analyze market risk, performance and attribution reports, and effectively communicate results to senior management, client portfolio managers and portfolio managers. - Provide the best client service experience by understanding our client's needs and developing relationships across the organization, specifically with Investment Specialists, Portfolio Managers, Middle Office, Client Reporting and others. Qualifications include : - Possess a good understanding of techniques used to measure risk at the security and portfolio levels, such as Value at Risk (VaR). Be technically proficient, detail-oriented and able to work independently. - Knowledge of Asset Management products and clients, as well as a thorough understanding of portfolio accounting principles, and performance and attribution methodologies. - Experience in partnering with a diverse team composed of staff and analysts located in multiple locations and time zones. - Effective communicator, being comfortable discussing results with a variety of business stakeholders. - Experience of model performance testing (including backtesting), stress testing and Solvency II reporting would be beneficial. - Experience with MSCI RiskMetrics and/or MSCI Barra would be beneficial, as would practical experience in coding (e.g. Excel VBA or Python).
