Job Description:
Supports Mortgage Banking CCAR Y-14M Regulatory Reporting and Analysis
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Obtain, document and analyze reporting needs and requirements through collaboration with LOB Partners
- Translate reporting needs into reports and dashboards
- Work across functional lines to strive for and ensure consistent data quality
- Conduct continuous review of reports and identify opportunities for improvements with the aim of minimizing redundant reporting and development of single source of truth where possible
- Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize data utilizing Tableau
- Automate data preparation and report creation where possible
- Development of ad-hoc reports as necessary
- Provide increased focus on analytics and emphasize on providing valuable insights to drive improvement opportunities
- Build understanding of business and operational strategies and identify critical metrics required to support those strategies
- Perform analysis and develops recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities
- Ability to handle various data sources, using data modeling work to develop reporting capabilities and valuable insights across these data sources is key.
- Work with other teams (Data Steward, Finance & Risk etc.) to identify data issues and improve data quality
- Partnership with the Project Manager and report owner(s) to communicate and remediate any issues
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
The role requires advanced analytical acumen and solution orientation. The role possesses critical thinking skills and the ability to understand and manipulate data to provide insightful observations, identify trends and communicate these effectively. The role is expected to act independently to make timely and informed decisions aligned to the role's remit or to escalate as appropriate to management or others in IT as needed. The role's insight and proposed actions should strive to be strategic, look beyond 'stop gap' measures and seek to drive improvements to reporting and analysis practices in a manner that is both effective and supporting the value firm has to the business.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Maintains advanced interpersonal and collaborative skills to engage strategically with peers and other senior executives of the firm, in cross business discussions to build and maintain a solid network for effective teamwork and knowledge sharing
- Advanced consultative skill to conduct effective questioning to break down complex issues into core elements, formulate appropriate ideas and negotiate those ideas clearly and concisely to advance a cooperative engagement by all levels of the organization including senior and/or executive management.
- Manifests a strong analytical and problem solving ability to negotiate complex and conflicting issues, handle ambiguity as well as multiple and shifting priorities and to drive firm related decisions that are both financially sound and operationally feasible.
- Maintains an advanced knowledge of Data Analytics and Data Visualization best practices.
- Utilizes proper resource, time and project management disciplines across a diverse culture, differentiating regulations and multiple time zones.
- Experience in working with large datasets, derive insights and present information through visualization and reports.
- In-depth understanding of the ETL process & best practices
- Should be flexible with EMEA shifts
