Job description :

J.P. Morgan's Climate Risk Management team is responsible for developing the firm's approach to climate related risk management, including both transition and physical risks. The candidate in this role will help establish the risk framework for identifying, assessing and monitoring climate-related transition risks across the firm. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an exciting and rapidly evolving field within the financial services industry.

The candidate should be highly-motivated to help us rapidly advance the firm's plan to establish a comprehensive climate risk management framework against an ambitious timeline. The candidate should have working knowledge of relevant climate change and sustainability issues, while being proficient with data modelling techniques. The individual needs to be a self-starter, able to articulate his / her thoughts clearly and have excellent attention to detail. We greatly value a candidate who has a keen sense of ownership and responsibility in each task performed. The individual will also be interfacing with a variety of internal counterparts across the firm.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide overall support to the team's climate and transition risk analytical frameworks, with focus on developing methodologies and conducting research on sectorial and corporate climate transition strategies

- Help build, maintain and analyse outputs from climate risk assessment models and user tools

- Extract and analyse data from relevant climate and financial sources, forming conclusions on key trends and patterns

- Help produce documentation to support climate risk assessment models and user tools

- Perform research on a range of climate related topics that affect the firm's activities

Desired Skills and Experience :

- 3+ years of relevant financial sector experience, including a minimum of 1+ year in climate change or sustainability

- University degree in a relevant field (e.g. environmental studies, sustainability, economics, finance); a quantitative academic background is also acceptable

- Strong client and commercial focus

- Ability to convey information clearly, accurately and succinctly (both written and verbally)

- Excellent analytical skills: proficient in Excel modelling and comfortable working large datasets

- Ability to draft high-impact presentations and documentation
