About Business Management
Business Management optimizes business performances by helping to drive key initiatives. We act as trusted advisors and counterweight to Business/Group Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the priorities of the different lines of business (LOBs).
This is a time-pressured and high-profile position which is instrumental in assisting/advising senior management and in coordinating the deployment of the bank's corporate resources to address strategic and tactical objectives.
Role Responsibilities
1. Business Performance
- Tracking regulatory projects across LOBs and functions & ensuring timely updates and progress to stakeholders
- Track overall country performance and provide periodic revenue estimate to Senior Country Officer (SCO), business heads and Senior Country Business Manager (SCBM)
- Analyze country dashboard and initiate discussions on business performance against targets
- Identify opportunity areas / gaps for various businesses by working closely with the businesses and the regional strategy team
- Track India franchise revenues and provide periodic estimate to SCO and business head
- Assisting SCBM in driving multiple initiatives across Advocacy, Resiliency, Real Estate
- Monitoring overall Control agenda across India business entities
- Track key initiatives and priorities of each businesses to ensure timely completion
- Hold strategy meeting for SCO with Corporate & Investment Bank ("CIB") business heads to discuss specific client situations and to focus on revenue gaps and cross sell strategies
- Organize monthly meetings with senior business heads to discuss business performance, priorities, outlook and challenges
- Closely monitor the legal entity direct expenses especially the controllable ones like MDs Travel expenses, etc. with a view to drive efficiency
- Conduct competitor analysis, peer benchmarking and wallet exercise
- Track performance of each branch against targets
- Prepare Country decks for visitors and for SCO's visits
2. Regional Initiatives
- Preparation of India presentation and strategy pages for regional review
- Provide India update for regional exercise like Operating Committee deck for India, Contribution analysis, Country Dashboard, quarterly business reviews, etc.
- Drive global / regional critical initiatives for the country
- Play a pivotal role for any Country Strategy exercise
Relevant Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
- Previous product knowledge and/or prior Business Management or Chief Operating Office experience
- A good understanding of the J.P. Morgan products and services offered in India
- Energetic and dynamic in style
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
- Present well to senior and global business heads
- Able to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions
- Good organizational skills - manages and prioritizes multiple tasks across different time horizons within deadlines
- Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence
- Able to both define and deliver to conclusion a strategic agenda across multiple groups
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
- Attention to detail with logical thought process
