Europe Real Estate (RE)


The Europe RE platform under the Global Alternatives group invests in Real estate assets in the key European markets with a focus on the Office, Retail, Logistics and Residential sectors.


Europe RE India Team


The team based out of Bangalore provides crucial support to the Acquisition and Asset management functions of the Europe RE team based out of Europe & UK. It also partners closely with various other stakeholders (like the Acquisition/Asset managers, Finance Controllers and External agents) for a smooth and seamless functioning of the funds on a day to day basis.


Role Overview


We are looking for a dynamic and a mature individual (preferably an MBA in Finance) with deep financial knowledge coupled with a fair understanding of the European/Global real estate market with an analytical bent of mind. The primary responsibilities would include the following:


Key Responsibilities-

- Partnering and performing key activities within the Acquisition and Asset management functions of the Real estate Group


- Within the Acquisition functions, the person would partner with the Europe/UK Acquisition team in several ad-hoc and recurring acquisition/disposition analysis using various valuation methodologies and bespoke research activities


- This shall include Preparing and updating Income analysis and Quick valuation for preliminary screening of deals and running detailed underwriting models for Real estate assets using various valuation methodologies like the Discounted Cash flow (DCF) approach, Transaction comparable and Broker recommendations.


- The Person should have fair understanding various real estate related documentation and extract relevant information required to complete cash flow models in excel.


- The person would also be expected to assist the acquisition team in writing portions of IC memos, sector write-ups, thematic research pieces, and other ad-hoc presentations prepared for Investors, Lenders or Senior Management


- The person would be responsible for running various periodic and ad-hoc Marketing reports and support the monitoring of the day-to-day operating metrics (KPIs) of all the Real estate assets within the Europe RE portfolio which might also include presentation to senior management.


- Would be expected to source data for above analyses through various sources like Real estate/Financial Databases, External/Internal research notes, Secondary research and several other website sources.


- Partner with the Europe/UK Acquisition team members on various customized projects and manage their expectations to come up with strategic solutions or pre-determined set of deliverables within a definitive timeline.


Essential Skills & Experience:


- Education: MBA in Finance from a reputed business school with a solid academic background, good understanding of Finance and a desirable understanding of the European/Global Real estate industry


- Experience: Minimum 4-7 years of post-qualification experience in Acquisition/Asset management or Research and Analytics or Consulting roles


Skill sets -

- A quick learner with an analytical bent of mind and a strong interest in the Global Real estate business


- Exposure to financial modeling skills and understanding of asset valuation techniques like DCF, Sales/Transaction comparable etc.


- Strong ability to interpret financial statements and reports


- Fair understanding of the real estate industry and the understanding of the global macro environment and its impact on the real estate sector


- Research/Analytics mindset coupled with high attention to details


- Hands on experience with MS office applications and advanced Excel skills preferred


- Well-developed and proven Written and Oral communication skills


- Exposure to data visualization tools (like Tableau, QlikView) and automation tools (like Xceptor and Alteryx) is desirable but not mandatory
