The candidate will be responsible for leading across disciplines: Sales, Program management & Site-Merchandising. The leader of this category will have a direct and important role in growing this category; experience in scaling new businesses, working with small & medium businesses, as well as recruiting, developing and motivating fast-growing teams is essential. The candidate will be responsible for setting and implementing the category growth strategy, evaluating selection decisions, influencing and driving change across many key stakeholders, improving processes to scale with high business growth and managing vendor/brand relationships.

You will need to be a self-starter, be comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and be able to deliver results at both a strategic and tactical level. An understanding of, and passion for, creating an impact in the seller community is highly desired.

In this role you will:

- Building the category strategy and execution plan

- Influencing executive decision-makers, helping them to understand the brand, desired product positioning, key points of difference, and target customer.

- Owning customer experience metrics and data quality

- Weekly and monthly tracking of category metrics to monitor goals and diving deep where needed to drive continuous improvement.

- Seller management: Identify and lead Selling partnerships, manage large Sellers and enhance overall Seller experience with better self-service and reporting resources.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Vendor Management or Account Management. Experience working with handicrafts & handlooms, small & medium business, niche selection is desired

- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

- Strong inclination to "Get Hands Dirty" in building organizational capability for a new businesses

- Deep understanding of the category nuances (category management, marketing, merchandising, Quality metrics)

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity

- Superior analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems. In particular, identifying customer needs and inventing new ways to meet those needs

- Online experience preferred.

- MBA degree
