JOB PURPOSE/ ROLE OBJECTIVE : To head Hot Rolling, Plate finishing, Bell Annealing, Hot Pickling Lines (Operation, Maintenance & Projects)
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Accountabilities :
- To generate quality product in time bound manner
- To do advance Rolling Sequence Planning & arranging raw material & marketing orders
- To plan Roll change strategy & managing roll Shop
- To Plan & discuss organization goals & 100% utilization of equipment
Major Activities :
- Updating the production team for quality requirement & expectation of customers & providing the guide lines for generating new SOP's to continuous improvement in process. Daily meetings for better coordination with quality control team & visit the internal customer shops for getting quality feed back & interaction for quality problems they face.
- Identification and development of local vendors for supply/ fabrication of components/spare parts in view of the change of technology and new type of equipment and services.
- Ensure the Competent and Reliable Vendors with a et of alternatives
- Timely coordinating with PPC dept & update them for present plant conditions & rolling capability for different products.
- To continuously watch Mill & roll performance & accordingly change in roll & grinding strategies & prepare new SOP's.
- Daily meeting with subordinates & to guide & motivate them for deliver better efficiency & to discuss plant bottlenecks & bring in notice of top management to overcome these bottle necks.
Key Performance Indicators :
- Zero %of rejection of product of different gardes.
- Reduction in Maintenance cost.
- 100% utilization of rolling time as per advance planning
- Zero time loss on account of non-availability of raw material.
- Reduction in down time & increase in production rate per hour.
Educational Qualifications : An Engineering Graduate with Mechanical specialization from a recognized Institute.
Functional Skills :
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical & negotiation skills with proven track record of achieving numerous cost savings during the career span
- Computer Savvy and MS office tools exposure, Knowledge of SAP desirable
Key actions and decisions taken :
1) When, What & how to Produce.
2) Change the operational control parameters & formulate new SOP's & guidelines for continual improvement in process & final yield.
3) Provide scope for "On the Job training" to operation team for different roles & different area's control desks.
4) Continuously watching the performance of subordinates & try to understand their skill level for different roles to get the desired result for the organization.
5) Motivate, Guide & Educate the operation team for new development in similar processes & industries by gathering information imparting training & mutual discussions.
6) Internal customer & supplier team buildings for better coordination & to avoid miss communication.
