Job Description :
- Has good wide-spectrum knowledge of our business as well as the software and infrastructure needed to support it.
- In conjunction with the Director of Technology, reviews business & tech strategy, options available to meet them, and decides on the infrastructure and software env & tools appropriate for that.
- Takes responsibility for dealing with vendors, partners and customers with regard to infrastructure setup, integration, service & support, etc., and guides IT Support & Dev teams on their tasks.
- Translates high level requirements or business goals to a broad set of proritized tasks needed to meet them, assesses technical feasibility and effort / time needed for each task, and allocates resources appropriately.
- Is able to negotiate on priorities and timelines for development goals based on realistic effort estimates and resource constraints.
- Often can also suggest more feasible alternative solutions.
- Takes ownership of recruitment / staffing activities for the technology team.
- Assesses the skill and maturity level of his team members, and gives tasks, responsibilities, guidance & supervision appropriate to each person.
- Provides ongoing and constructive performance feedback to his team members and helps them in their skill development and career growth.
