JOB SUMMARY:
The Head of Analytics is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the analytics department. This role involves being a hands-on SME and managing a team of data analysts, data scientists, and other analytical professionals to deliver data-driven insights and solutions that support the organization's goals. The Head of Analytics will collaborate closely with other departments to identify opportunities for leveraging data and analytics to improve operations, customer experiences, and business outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and communicate the organization's analytics strategy, vision, and goals.
- Build and lead a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Establish best practices, standards, and processes for data analysis and reporting.
2. Data Analysis:
- Conduct advanced data analysis to extract actionable insights from large datasets.
- Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
- Monitor data quality and integrity and ensure data governance practices are followed.
3. Data Visualization:
- Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Ensure that reports and dashboards are user-friendly and accessible to non-technical audiences.
4. Business Insights:
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and challenges, providing data-driven solutions and recommendations.
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that can drive business growth and efficiency.
5. Predictive Modelling:
- Utilize advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modelling and machine learning, to provide proactive insights and recommendations.
6. Data Infrastructure:
- Work with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure.
- Evaluate and implement appropriate analytics tools and technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics).
- Hands on with data analysis, data modelling, statistical analysis, predictive analysis, forecasting and time series analysis.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SAS).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Business acumen and the ability to align analytics initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
