Jan Suraaj Young Leaders Program - Senior Consultant

Jan Suraaj is seeking highly motivated individuals who can play a pivotal role in shaping its movement for socio-political change in Bihar. As a Jan Suraaj Associate, you will gain exposure to a wide array of responsibilities, aimed at social and political capacity building. This position will give you a unique insight into the functioning of Indian democracy, which intersects with the stratified economic and social identities in Bihar. With its mission of making Bihar one of the most developed states in India, you will be able to significantly contribute to the Bihar growth-story through Jan Suraaj.

Responsibilities:

- Lead a diverse team of young professionals to further the goals of Jan Suraaj through strategizing and planning social and political networks and outreach campaigns;

- Assess the social and political pulse of an assigned geography within Bihar through a series of rigorous primary and secondary research initiatives;

- Liaise with political stakeholders to assess their ability to contribute to Jan Suraaj's broader goals;

- Establish a formal network of political and non-political stakeholders within the assigned geography;

- Build capacity in youth leadership within rural Bihar;

- Plan, conceptualise, strategise, and execute high-impact campaigns aimed at broad public outreach; and

- Coordinate with various internal teams including digital media, data analytics, strategic research, and operations to achieve Jan Suraaj's goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A Bachelors or Masters degree from a premier institute;

- Over 4 years of work experience, after graduation;

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in Hindi and English;

- Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools for the creation of presentations, plans, and monitoring reports

Preferred Qualifications:

- Have good interpersonal skills and exposure in dealing with various kinds of stakeholders

- Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives for key stakeholders

- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and be a good team-player
