Manager - Procurement Job Description
Criteria:
- 10+ years experience in a similar leadership level position with a successful track record of achieving results. The role includes relevant strategic sourcing and procurement function, experience in best-in-class procurement processes.
- Experience in handling Procurement operations in Retail Industry from diverse Vendors.
- Experience of managing a team of direct reports
Job related skills:
- Create and implement Procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within the industry
- Build strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; build a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities of the business.
- Effective Vendor Management and building strategic relationships with key vendors and suppliers across Merchandise categories.
- Implement sound Procurement policies and ensure its implementation
- Day to Day management of team for effective execution of the Procurement function
- Imbibe Technology into all aspects of Procurement function on an end-to-end basis.
- Defining and mapping processes and procedures through Continuous Improvement Orientation
- Work with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, focusing on total cost of ownership.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies; maintain procurement ethics in accordance with the companys policies.
- Additional duties as assigned
Management skills:
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team of high energy internal procurement team
- Expert Excel user
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Stakeholder Management Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy and complex problem-solving environment
- Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics.
- Establish effective mechanisms to drive team performance towards goals, including processes for developing/managing the function.
Education and Background:
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent)
- Masters degree (MBA) preferred.
- Well versed in computer and technology related skills
- Fluency in English, Telugu and Hindi
