Position: Asst. Brand Manager, Education & Stationery Products Business, ITC Limited

Reporting Into: Brand Manager (1st Appraiser) & Marketing Manager (2nd Appraiser)

Location: ESPB Head Office, Chennai

About ESPB : ESPB was established in the year 2000. It started as a Greeting Card Business and has grown over the years in terms of turnover as well as product portfolio significantly. Greeting Cards business was discontinued and the organization got into Student & Executive Notebooks in the year 2002. Currently, the business is proud of having built strong brands such as Classmate and Paperkraft. Colour Crew is another brand in the Classmate umbrella under which ITC has launched the Art Stationery category. Product Categories in which the business operates today are Notebooks, Pens, Pencils, Geometry Boxes, Maths Instruments, Erasers, Sharpeners, Rulers and Art Stationery (Pencil Colours, Sketch Pens, Crayons). The business clocked a topline of approx. 600 crores in 2011-12 and has aggressive growth plans going forward.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

- Asst Brand Manager (ABM) shall assist the Brand Manager in development of the Category/Categories Asset within a Brand, focused on and in-charge of creation of all tactical and reactive Brand Strategies and communications for effecting higher saliency, awareness and image.

- Asst Brand Manger will be accountable for Value and Volume share in line with the portfolio objectives. Ensure development of existing category/categories to enhance the Brand Image in consonance with Brand portfolio objectives.

KEY FOCUS AREAS:

- Assist in the development of Category or Categories

- Create & administer Brand / Category Input plan to effectively communicate strategies to consumers with the objective of enhancing salience and awareness for the
category or categories

- Create & administer Strategy/Structure/Systems required for monitoring & enhancement of consumer perception & imagery of Brand/Category

- Enhance the Value and Volume share in the marketplace

- Innovate existing Products and Processes and develop new & more profitable products / SKUs / categories in line with the portfolio objective

- To track & control marketing spends for the Brand/Category

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:

- Brand/Category Input Plans

- Innovative ideas leading to inputs into category

- Portfolio Mix as per Plan

- Launch Planning

- Organizing for optimum stocks for first three months

- Achievement of Desired Market Share in first 6 mths

INTERNAL LINKAGES:

- Head of Sales & Marketing, CEO, Programming Manager, SOPM, Head of Operations, Commercial Manager, NSM, CDM, Head of Finance, Legal team, TMDM and Manager-Modern Trade & Institution Business.

EXTERNAL LINKAGES:

- Advertising agencies, Media Buying Agencies, Research firms, PR & Event Management Agencies, Merchandise Vendors

Salary -

- Negotiable depending on work experience and qualifications.

Long Term Plan for the job holder :

- Job rotation once every 2-3 years in other ITC businesses such as Foods, Personal Care or Trade Marketing & Distribution. This may involve change in business, role and location.

Looking for passouts from 2009 batch with atleast 1 year of brand experience.
