Manager - Business Development/Government Sales
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to penetrate government markets and achieve sales targets.
- Identify and prioritize key government agencies and departments for engagement.
Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government decision-makers, influencers, and procurement officials.
- Collaborate with internal teams to establish strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance market penetration.
Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Drive the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring a consistent and robust sales pipeline.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets by promoting and selling network solutions and datacenter services to government clients.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay informed about government technology trends, policies, and procurement processes to provide valuable insights for product and service development.
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the government sales landscape.
Proposal Development:
- Lead the development of compelling proposals and presentations tailored to government requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate representation of network solutions and datacenter capabilities.
Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate terms and conditions with government clients, ensuring favorable agreements while adhering to company policies and legal guidelines.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and technical teams, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and services to government clients.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure all sales activities adhere to government regulations, industry standards, and ethical business practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in business development, specifically in government sales within the technology sector.
- In-depth understanding of government procurement processes and compliance requirements.
- Strong network within government agencies and the ability to leverage existing relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and drive results.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to close complex deals.
