Title: Analyst, Max Institute of Healthcare Management
Reports to: Research Fellow or Senior Analyst
Job Summary
Carry out research and analytic work within the mission and strategy of the Institute. This will entail playing a significant role in research and impact projects under the guidance and supervision of the Research Fellow, Senior Analyst, research faculty of ISB, or other senior staff of the Institute as assigned.
Responsibilities
1. Carry out specific tasks and functions as requested in implementing projects and studies. This may include background research, data collection, cleansing, and analysis and summarizing results.
2. Carry out such work using office productivity tools, and statistical and analytical packages such as R, Python, Stata, or SAS as needed.
3. Work under the guidance and supervision of ISB research faculty as requested.
4. Carry out environmental scans and information and data collection.
5. Review and summarize potential projects, and take a supporting role in writing and presenting formal proposals.
6. Support research for and production of white papers, concept notes, and opinion pieces on the health sector.
7. Support preparation of Power Points and data visualization for presentations at conferences and symposia.
8. Assist teaching faculty in healthcare management courses in areas of expertise.
9. Carry out all activities responsibly, on time and with high quality outputs, responding closely to supervisory inputs.
10. Perform other appropriate duties as requested by the Research Fellow or Executive Director.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors or master's degree. Degree in a related field, such as business, public health or public policy is preferred.
- At least two years relevant experience preferred. Knowledge and experience within the health sector is preferred but not required.
- Ability to effectively carry our research activities, and maintain high quality and integrity of work process and results.
- Proficiency in office productivity, statistical and computational software packages and their use in research and analysis.
- Familiarity with advanced research methodologies such as statistics, econometrics, simulation, optimization, survey design, and field experiments is desirable.
- Strong writing skills in English and ability to present concepts and data effectively.
- Ability to be highly responsive to supervision and produce high quality outputs in the defined timeframe.
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance from other staff. Ability and willingness to identify when requirements may not be met or assistance is needed and to ask for such input or assistance in a clear and timely manner.
