Head Sales and Marketing - (Agricultural Technology and Equipment)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- The incumbent will head the Sales & Marketing function for the company. The incumbent would be responsible for delivering year-on-year sales target based on the company's goals and growth aspirations.

- The incumbent should have demonstrated capabilities in leading a large & dynamic sales team and an extensive distribution channel.

- Must have strong customer orientation, relationship building and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to lead through influence, strong team orientation, great motivator, and ability to coach & guide people to achieve greater heights. This is a senior level & highly critical role which impacts the business plans and profitability of the company and hence need is for a seasoned professional who can bring the depth, maturity and general management expertise required to discharge this role.

- The incumbent will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing and will be a member of the company's Core Leadership Team.

QUALIFICATION :

Graduation (B.Sc. | B.Tech.) in Agriculture with PG in Agri-Business Management OR Equivalent from Premium Institute.

PREFERABLE INDUSTRY BACKGROUND :

Agrochemicals/Seeds/Agri Machinery/Rural FMCG. Exposure and working experience in Agriculture/Rural Markets is important. 15 years of relevant experience.

Sales, Marketing, and Technical:

- B2B, B2C & B2G sales background

- Identification of new business opportunities

- Strong Competitive Analysis

- Strong Brand, Product Management and commercial acumen

- Understanding of Start-up culture

- Strategic Thinking. Should be able to design future Sales & Marketing strategy

- Market research

- Negotiation Skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:-

1. Responsible for implementing year on year financial matrix for the Sales & Marketing function- Revenue, Collections, Margins, Customer Outstanding, Manpower Planning and Functional Cost Management. Planning and Budgeting, both annual as well as mid to long term.

2. Designing and implementing effective Sales & Marketing strategies for different market segments - Sales & Distribution partners, Government agencies, FPOs, and company's direct channel.

3. Market & customer feedback for product/capability gaps. Design and implement effective Sales & Marketing strategies and implementing the same on ground with the sales team. Value pricing and product life cycle management.

4. Regular monitoring, compilation, & sharing of competitor information and market insights with the Leadership team and devising plans to counter the same in the marketplace.

5. Works closely with the R&D and Design team by providing market information on product performance. Ensures knowledge transfer and technical training to the sales team.

6. Dynamic management of resources based on potential and actual conditions in the market

7. Building and maintaining a strong sales team with appropriate and effective training and sales incentive programs. Strong people development and succession planning for key sales positions

8. Identifying, developing, implementing, and nurturing strategic alliances with strong market players in areas where the company does not wish to participate directly, as those are not the core areas for the company.

9. Building and maintaining best in class sales channel which is loyal and takes pride in working with the Company based on mutual trust and lasting relationships

10. Wins trust & confidence of his direct reportees through strong interpersonal skills, professional approach and what additional he brings to the table.

11. Represent the Company in selected industry forums, associations & government interactions

12. Member of the company's Core Leadership Team and works closely with other departmental heads. In this role, apart from bringing Sales & marketing expertise to the table, contributes to the overall thinking and direction of the company.

13. Close coordination with all stakeholders. Participates with the promoters on representing the company to meet potential future investors in the company's future fundraise efforts.
