Investment Analyst - Financial Advisory Firm

Opportunity for an Investment Analyst with a Financial Advisory Firm, Mumbai

- We are looking for an Investment Analyst for the Equities investment team for a financial advisory firm based in Mumbai.

- The Analyst plays a role evaluating potential public and private security investment opportunities, conducting research, participating in the communication of investments to the team, and monitoring existing investments.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

1. Analyze and communicate Investment Opportunities:

- Research from a bottom-up perspective, analyze and evaluate public and private (pre-IPO) security investment opportunities across multiple industries including chemicals, industrials, consumer and financial services.

- Perform due diligence on opportunities including financial, company and sector diligence, to determine investment merits and risks

- Perform valuation analysis of companies' securities, including DCF, precedent transactions and relative value analysis

- Meet with company management and intermediaries to review past performance, strategy, outlook, industry issues, and other relevant topics as required,

- Present investment recommendations to Team both in writing and orally.

2. Monitor Public and Private (Pre-IPO) Security Investments:

- Analyze and communicate company earnings and events that move listed share prices.

- Monitor ongoing financial performance of portfolio assets, both public and private. Update financial models and other analysis tools to help with communicating rationale behind change in investment view.

- Performing valuation reviews for portfolio assets and develop proactive investment monitoring frameworks for private and public equities.

- Build and leverage relationships with industry participants and management teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- At least 1- 2 years of relevant experience working in a sell side (equity research, M&A, corporate finance) role in India "or/ and" master's degree in finance / economics.

- Strong research, accounting, financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills

- Clear and concise writing skills

- Passion for identifying investment opportunities and valuation arbitrage
