Investment Analyst

Position / Qualifications Overview:

- Designation - Analyst

- Years of work experience - 2+ years of experience in venture capital, consulting, investment banking, or a related field

- Academic credentials - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or CFA certification is a plus.

Location - Mumbai/Gurgaon.

Responsibilities:

Market Research and Analysis:

- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, new technologies, and potential investment opportunities.

- Analyze industry reports, market data, and competitive landscapes to provide insights and recommendations.

Financial Modeling and Valuation:

- Develop detailed financial models to evaluate the potential return on investment for prospective companies.

- Perform company valuations using various methodologies, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.

Due Diligence:

- Assist in the due diligence process by examining financial statements, business models, and management teams of potential investments.

- Conduct background checks and reference calls to verify the credentials and track records of key personnel.

Investment Proposal Preparation:

- Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

- Collaborate with senior team members to refine investment theses and strategies.

Portfolio Management:

- Monitor the performance of portfolio companies, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.

- Provide ongoing support to portfolio companies, including financial analysis, strategic guidance, and market insights.

Networking and Relationship Building:

- Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other venture capital professionals.

- Attend industry conferences, pitch events, and networking functions to stay connected with the startup ecosystem.

Skills:

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.
