Operational Responsibilities
- Initiate updates in systems according to reporting evolution
- Produce and analyze reports
- Ensure Process Improvement drive
- Act as second level of approval authority
- Participate in the processing work related to the function at the expected level of delivery in terms of turnaround time and quality while performing the following processes(90% involved in process):
- Investment Accounting: Asset designation, initial designation of interfaced trades, Initial designation of manual trades, change of designation, de-recognition.
- Sub ledger preparation, Nautilus group consolidation, fund summary consolidation.
- Valuation and pricing : Accrual/ deferral of interest, valuation pricing
- Impairment processing and delivering data to general ledger
- Hedge Accounting & designation: Post designations, generate the postings, Post hedge accounting items, post in F1, Generate the postings, post hedge accounting designation.
- Reporting: Maintain and communicate reporting policies, prepare and analyze reports, distribution of reports and acquiring sign offs & reports submission
Managerial Responsibilities
- Manage a small team (people issues, hiring, retention, performance management etc.)
- Lead and motivate the team to facilitate achievement of key performance indicators.
Education and Experience
- Graduate / post-graduate degree in accounting / finance required/inter C.A. /C.A. may be considered if they come with the relevant knowledge
- Close to 3-5 years in a Investment accounting/Reporting function in an accounting firm, insurance or bank organization preferred, knowledge of accounting principles required and should have experience in preparation and review of statutory and regulatory reports
- Previous experience in an Insurance Shared Service Centre environment preferred
- Experience managing a team of 3-4 operators
- General understanding of Insurance Business with ability to articulate the different dimensions and indicators with reference to a reporting function
- Open to working in European shifts
- Must possess a valid passport
Technical Competencies
- Understanding of Investment accounting/reporting domain in ERP/SAP environment
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as Business Objects WebI, SQL, Toad or similar desirable
- Exposure to accounting applications like Magnitude desirable
- Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP would be an advantage
- Good knowledge of Live Office or similar platforms and MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel required
- Ability to perform tasks on multiple computer applications
