Job Description:
- The Intellectual Property (IP) Manager will oversee and protect the company's patent portfolio in the pharmaceutical industry.
- This role involves managing patent filings, ensuring compliance with IP laws, and supporting the R&D and legal teams in all patent-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Patent Portfolio:.
- Oversee filing, prosecution, and maintenance of patents.
- Conduct patent searches and analyze patent landscapes.
- Coordinate with external patent attorneys for filings.
Develop IP Strategies:.
- Create IP strategies aligned with business and R&D goals.
- Conduct freedom-to-operate analyses.
- Evaluate potential IP acquisitions and licensing.
Ensure Compliance:.
- Ensure compliance with global IP laws.
- Support legal team in patent litigation.
- Draft and review IP-related agreements.
Collaborate with Teams:
- Work with R&D, legal, and business development teams.
- Provide training on IP best practices.
- Communicate IP matters to senior management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Patent Agent or Attorney registration is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in IP management, preferably in pharma or biotech.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of patent law.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking.
- Proficient in patent search tools and IP management software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
