Position Summary:
The Specialist, Learning (Instructional Design) is responsible for building and maintaining effective partnerships with the project lead and/or Learning Consultant to determine and deliver effective learning solutions that address knowledge and/or performance gaps.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
This Individual Contributor role:
1. Works with learning team peers to:
- Review initial performance and needs analysis
- Partner to define scope of proposed learning solution
- Document high-level solution design and storyboards (ILT, VILT, web-based or blended training)
- Design, curate, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solution final productsthat enable our clients to accelerate change, drive improved performance, and apply more effective decisions
2. Maintains strong relationships across the learning function and with key business partners during learning analysis, solution design, and solution development
3. Operates with minimal oversight to keep learning projects on time and on-budget
4. Serves as the Design Lead and/or a key partner for complex projects, and manages multiple projects simultaneously
5. Mentors and coaches new and/or less-experienced learning team members
Required skills:
- Strong performance consulting skills, as well as expert storyboarding and learning solution development skills.
- Proven skills designing for the user experience (content flow, usability, look and feel)
- Proven proficiency with learning design/development software, including but not limited to:
- Articulate Storyline
- Appitierre Evolve
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat DC, Photoshop, etc.)
- Adobe Captivate
- Vyond
Desired skills:
- Experience with web programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) a plus
- Experience working within an Agile framework a plus
- Experience designing and developing for accessibility (WCAG 2.0)
