Infrastructure Specialist - BFS - Contract

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and Implement IT Infrastructure

Develop IT Architecture:

- Design and implement scalable IT infrastructure architectures to support business needs.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements and integrate solutions seamlessly.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Implement Solutions:

- Lead projects to deploy new infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud services.

- Ensure infrastructure aligns with best practices and compliance standards.

2. Manage IT Operations

Oversee Daily Operations:

- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure components to ensure smooth operations.

- Implement and manage incident response protocols to address and resolve issues promptly.

- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure service level agreements are met.

Support and Maintenance:

- Perform routine system checks and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

- Document procedures and develop guides for end-users and IT staff.

3. Ensure System Performance and Availability

Optimize Performance:

- Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimizations to improve efficiency.

- Develop capacity planning strategies to accommodate future growth and demands.

High Availability Solutions:

- Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.

- Regularly test and validate failover and recovery procedures.

4. Security and Compliance

Ensure Security:

- Implement security best practices and policies to protect the firm's IT assets.

- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

Compliance:

- Ensure that all infrastructure components comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.

- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reviews.

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.

Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure design, implementation, and management.

- Proven track record of managing complex IT environments in a fast-paced setting.

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of networking, server administration, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

- Experience with monitoring tools and automation frameworks.

- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
