Infrastructure Engineer - Data Centres - Global Consulting Firm - Contractual

Our client, a global consulting firm, is working with a building materials client. They are looking for an infrastructure engineer with prior experience of building Data Centres.

Below summarises the role:

Design and Planning:

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand technical requirements and design data centre infrastructure solutions.

- Develop detailed plans for the implementation of data centre projects, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

Infrastructure Implementation:

- Oversee the installation and configuration of data centre hardware, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and other critical components.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Capacity Planning:

- Conduct capacity planning assessments to anticipate future hardware and resource needs.

- Implement strategies for scaling infrastructure to meet growing demands.

Systems Integration:

- Coordinate the integration of various systems within the data centre, including servers, storage, networking, and security components.

- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to optimize performance.

Security and Compliance:

- Implement and maintain security measures to protect data centre infrastructure.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies.

Monitoring and Maintenance:

- Establish and maintain monitoring systems for real-time visibility into the health and performance of data centre components.

- Conduct routine maintenance activities and address issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Disaster Recovery Planning:

- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of infrastructure failures.

- Conduct regular tests and updates to the disaster recovery strategy.

Documentation:

- Create and update comprehensive documentation for data centre infrastructure, including diagrams, procedures, and configurations.

- Keep documentation current with changes and upgrades.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security professionals.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular updates on infrastructure projects.

This is a 6-month contractual opportunity with a high possibility of extension. The selected consultant would be required to travel to Mumbai and Chennai as per the client's requirements.
