Job Description : Senior Consultant / Reporting Services Manager
- Manage the end to end reporting setup and delivery processes in a client engagement. This will involve managing people / teams to set up and deliver reports on ongoing basis to clients
- Understand client's business, domain and reporting needs in order to define, set-up and deliver reports. Drive a well-defined quality control process to deliver high quality reports on time
- Understand the data models and technology currently in use to store and extract data
- Participate in transitioning reports from the client organization. Review various measures that determine the time and effort required for report set-up & delivery (i.e. report complexity framework etc.) and ensure that effort is correctly calculated and resourced
- Interact with clients on regular basis to manage ongoing delivery, identify needs and elicit opportunities for additional reporting and build strong relationships to grow the business
- Use visual analytics as a tool to tell compelling stories and to engage decision makers in dialogue. Guide the team to use various visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, Qlikview, Microstrategy, etc.) to prepare graphs and charts.
- Be aware of / guide the team to put together documentation around reporting - i.e., report definitions, report catalogues, validation checklists etc.
- Recruit, retain and manage people to deliver high quality reporting services to clients. Where required, provide training to team to improve capability in reporting & analysis
Skills / Experience Required :
Work Experience :
- 8-12 years experience in creating and delivering reports for business requirements
- 5+ years experience in managing or leading teams to deliver business results
- Experience in 2-3 business domains - Retail / CPG / Telecom / Manufacturing industry preferred
Education :
- Post Graduate or MBA (preferred) with graduation in Engineering / Mathematics / Operations Research / Science
Skills :
- Technical - Advanced Excel user, at minimum working knowledge of SQL/MS Access, process modeling, understanding organization IT system landscapes, data models
- Hands on experience on SAS, SQL, VBA and application programming. Exposure to latest BI technologies such as QlikView, Tableau
- Soft - Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, proactive, takes ownership, team management
