IT Manager
- Directs, plans, and manages the company's Information Systems to assure the development and implementation of data processing, computer operations, communications, and production activities.
- As a member of the executive leadership team, participates in planning corporate growth and coordinating the strategic plan with the development of information systems.
- Areas of responsibility include the full range of information systems and telecommunications activities, including determining user requirements, recommending practical solutions, and leading company-wide efforts to improve the effective use of technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Compile and review records to determine department productivity, quality of output and cost of service. Develop methods to continually improve results
- Evaluate new equipment, software and processes continuously, recommend changes as appropriate, and supervise their installation
- Perform all functions of supervision/management/development of department employees
- Write department annual budgets and administer funds according to budget approval
- Maintain security of all data proprietary and provide complete backup of all computer systems in case of system failure or disaster
- Develop strategic plans identifying information technology applications to support business plans or create new strategic options
- Directs the design, development, maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software to meet the business needs of the company
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals
- Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions and file maintenance
- Oversee systems development and enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems
- Communicate regularly with executive management and all users of information services and systems
- Develop the IT staff to meet the changing needs of users, groups and branches; new projects and technologies; and varying staff strengths
- Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end-users
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades
- Oversee provision of end-user services, including the help desk and technical support services
- Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements
- Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review
- Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision
- Manage servers, security solutions, network hardware and equipment
- Manage telecommunications infrastructure and development plans, projects, policies and procedures
- Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements
Qualification Requirements :
- BS degree in Computer Science
- At least 10 years of progressive IT experience, including experience in a multi-site environment
- Polished leadership skills are required to successfully perform the planning, directing, executing, reporting, and administrative responsibilities of this position
- A comprehensive knowledge of the information systems technology subjects and extensive knowledge of hardware and software, with the ability to keep abreast of new technologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with the Executive Management of an organization, and to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to meet deadlines, to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products, and to take initiative in the development and completion of projects
- Strong project management, organizational and time management skills. Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills
